Headed up to Oxtongue. It was above seasonal for the Autumn. However it was very dark, and cloudy for much of the time we were up.
Took highway 35 up, the colour was muted this year. Some say because of the all the forest fires and smoke in the spring.

Unlike the sandy shores of the Great Lakes, the high cliffs of the Haliburton Highlands, means no Sand Pipers or other shore birds migrate to this area. Hence plenty of crows and ravens.

Got a picture of the Eclipse. Was lucky to get a brief window, between clouds.
We planted garlic, a small beginning to hopefully a future of gardening such a large plot.
Saw a moose while in Algonquin Park.
Luckily I didn't need a winter jacket, hiking this Autumn.

Such little puddles were once used to boil water. Make a little fire adjacent to the puddle, and the water will heat up.

You can tell this beaver lodge is still in use, because of the freshly chewed sticks.
Occasionally some nice contrasting colour against the granite.

The green become effervescent when the sun came out.
The wet weather brought out all the mushrooms.
These fresh pileated woodpecker holes are the size of two fists.
The tamaracks turning yellow for the autumn. This year the tamaracks stole the show.

The old airstrip now has many blueberry bushes growing in the sandy soil.
Crows like the area around Algonquin Park, they don't have problems with the steep and rocky terrain.
